  1. Love the show! Anderson, keep up the great work. Your attitude is so infectious I looked for something on the web with you sans Bryan and found it on the Loveline After Disaster podcast and have been a huge fan of the show (AD that is) ever since.

Unfortunately, Bryan’s spoilers on The Film Vault cause me to forward fast through a good deal of the show to avoid ruining the movies I haven’t seen yet. He’s at his best when he’s less of a know-it-all and taps into self-deprecating mode. When he does this he is enjoyable to listen to.

Have you ever thought that if a Muppet was made in the form of Bald Bryan that we would be hard pressed to tell the difference? ::sniff::

  2. im totally loving the new film vault guys!
i know you guys are recording super late, so it might be difficult, but it would be awesome if you could hook up some guests like you used to back at Ace. Recurring spots for Teresa, Doug Benson, Alison and some new people to grace our earholes.

Also, i would absolutely love some sort of TV-VAULT spinoff with anderson and a co-host who is also knowledgeable about current good tv. it would be AWESOME

  5. You need to find a spot in the top 5 for ‘Not Quite Hollywood’!

Definitely an on Apocalypse Now-level of insanity in film-making…

    • Could not agree more with you Stephen. Not Quite Hollywood is brilliant. Was fortunate enough to see it in a theatre when it debuted at the Toronto International Film Fest a few years back. The director made a not as successful follow up called Machete Maidens Unleashed last year that you may want to check out as well.

      • Yeah I saw Machete Maidens Unleashed, it’s a solid follow-up without being as great as NQH. They spawned a bit of a revival for Oz-Sploitation films here in Australia. All of a sudden some of the more cult-inclined cinemas would play Mad Dog Morgan, Wake in Fright or even Stunt-rock! Obviously none of my American friends are familiar with any of this so I feel I have to fly the flag whenever the conversation turns to guerilla film-making! We also apparently gave the world the first Brikfilm!.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jde4qHbCtSg

  8. Turns out Darren Aronofsky is directing a new Transformers project. A clanking ass to ass scene is likely.

  9. This is the first week where I agreed (or didn’t disagree) with BB’s list. I think you need to have the end of the show, or a separate podcast dedicated to TV shows talk. Or maybe a special? Anderson, you kick ass!

  10. Good stuff as always. Never quit. How about Top 5 most violent westerns, or western-themed, etc. Keep ’em coming. I catch myself pausing AC’s podcast to listen to yours – to the finish.

  12. Yet another informative & entertaining show. Good work gentlemen.

Logan mentioned putting Bryan on youtube for the Human Centipede show. Any thoughts to filming the Film Vault and putting that on youtube?

  15. I saw Dead Man’s Shoes on DVD around the same time I saw Alpha Dog and I remember feeling they were strangely similar. The same thing happened with The Hammer and Rocky Balboa.

  16. Great list of movies. Anderson, you need to check out the Debbie Does Dallas doc and my boy as well, John Waters, has a one man show called This Filthy World which is on Fuck-Flix streaming and is awesome.

My biggest problem with Red State is that Kevin Smith (and everyone in the world) pushed it as a horror movie and it most certainly was not. Just a meh for me.
