I don’t know if you guys have seen the movie “Run Ronnie Run?” I can’t believe this musical number by Jack Black was not mentioned.
What do you think?

Sorely missed- the “Knights of the Roundtable” from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Monty Python had a huge amount of musical comedy in their work, from “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” to “Every Sperm is Sacred”. I still think their best may be the “Galaxy Song”. Here it is if you missed it- enjoy:

Speaking of Joss Whedon, you guys still need to check out Firefly/Serenity. I don’t want to oversell it, but if you’re looking for great dialogue and character development nestled inside a kitchy scifi underdog story, Firefly is the very definition. It is soundly worth seeing.
See it and the next time a clever guest mentions “Joss Whedon” Bryan won’t make a fumbling attempt at relating to Joss Stone. Ms. Stone *is* acutally a “her,” big guy. Joss Whedon… not so much.
Love the podcast, guys. Great episode. Keep up the great work!

Would you consider using clips most of the time? It’s so cool to hear the actual lines from the movies that you specifically mention. Even if you don’t do them all. I know it’s extra work for Logan, but makes the show so much better!

Not even a mention of Buffalo Bill dancing in Silence of the Lambs? Has to be top 5!

I laughed my ass off at Bryan’s attempts to endear himself to the guest as Anderson quipped about it.
Bryan: “I listen to your podcast all the time.” Riki: “Yeah, what’s your favorite one?” Anderson: “This is where you get caught in your lie, Bryan.” …..aaaand Bryan actually hesitated for a long time there
Also, later.. Riki: “Josh Sweden.” Bryan: “She’s great….. He.” Anderson (half-whispering): “This is uncomfortable.”
Comedy gold.

I think that the end scene from 40 year old virgin deserves an honorable mention

Riki’s right on about leaving your garbage in the theater. How about you ask the workers themselves how they feel about it? I’m pretty sure they’d be annoyed by it.

Bryan, NO WATCH = NO STEAK tough guy.
You don’t want to be giving yourself bad “fantasy” karma this time a year, haha.

You’ll be a Dentist!!! Nice call BB, fantastic scene, can’t believe no-one else was into it.
Guess we got similar comedic tastes. (ex. “Oh, thanks god.” circa – Waterworld)
Thanks for mentioning my film “Wiggle Room”. Film’s website got quite a few more hits today.

Anyone gonna mention to Anderson that the first song Dirk sings is the theme song from Transformers?
You are a sneaky little shit, Bryan.

Nice episode. Riki is a great guest. Not a top 5 I would have normally cared for, but felt like she added a lot.
Logan does all the work and gets 15%? Seems about right. Logan is the 99%.

I found out that the download link was in my junk folder for some reason. I’ve listened to is by now too and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed the movie better with A& B as my guides. Anderson especially had some interesting insights into the film

The stuff about the lens flair was really interesting, I think that kind of stuff is a great addition to the conversation since people who watch a lot of movies and different kinds movies notice things like that and are curious on how some things are shot and achieved. My vote is for more nerdy stuff like that! maybe a segment once and a while where one of your buddies in the “industry” (sniff) can come in and explain how certain shots/ effects/ filters/ ect… are achieved. knowing that kind of stuff, I think makes you appreciate the film that much more.

I agree. I like to know the little ‘nerdy’ stuff too. Anderson will start taling about different angles and effects and Bryan will sometimes go along and then they say, “We don’t want to bore you with this film school crap.” It’s not boring; it’s learning not only how but why the film maker did what he did.

The origin of another classic bald Bryan drop revealed!! The, “I’m gay!” one. Now if only I knew where the, “how dare you!!” one came from…

I’m almost certain that “How Dare You!” is from Anchorman. It certainly is Will Ferrell.

FIRST?! Dummy that I am, I totally missed all these moments when thinking of my list. I’m starting to think ‘Hot Rod’ is the ultimate hipster movie. Take that for what you will. I wonder where ‘Grandma’s Boy’ falls on your lists? It’s a Film Vault weekend for with a little Snifftrax followed by ‘the Rock-Afire Explosion’ which sounds AWESOME!

Whoa whoa whoa, Grandmas boy is classic. Hipsters can’t steal that from us regular movie lovers.
