  1. wow, no mention of The Departed. it’s probably a fucked out film but it’s a super great movie nonetheless, worthy of an honorable mention

  2. I have been a loyal film vault listener since ACE network. But, today I turned this off half way. I cannot take Bryan interrupting Anderson any more. I am not sure why Bryan thinks it is funny. Let me know when Bryan will let Anderson complete a sentence and I will start listening again.

  3. How the fuck did you guys forget The Thin Red Line? *ahem* Jim Caviezel, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, John Cusack, Elias Koteas, Adrien Brody, Ben Chaplin, George Clooney, Woody Harrelson, John Travolta, John C. Reilly, MIranda Otto, Jared Leto, Tom Jane, Nick Stahl, Dash Mihok. For shame, you two.

  6. So, you only had a limited number of responses allowed for the survey, but you used some of them yourselves and Bryan’s mother.

I’m sure that’s valuable in some way.

    • Those were test responses to make sure the survey worked. We deleted those responses before we made the survey live. And we paid an overage charge for every response we collected past what the survey website allowed. But thanks for the super-passive-aggressive response. Much appreciated.

  7. Oh nooooo….I didn’t get to fill out the survey! You’ve hit the maximum. Fantastic, though.

    Comment on the podcast….

Bryan, quit baiting Anderson. Anderson, quit rising to the bait. It reminds me of my parents’ passive aggressive dance. Unnnncomfortable.

    More of the love, please.

    Love the show.

  9. Out of Sight and Get Shorty had pretty good casts–both adapted from Leonard Elmore novels and both 90’s, Brian

  10. When Anderson and Bryan bet, wouldn´t it be better if they both write down their tips so we don´t get these stupid “The price is right” situations?

  11. Anderson got it right with Glenn Gary Glenn Ross. Jack Lemmon’s performance in that movie in a supporting role, is one of the finest performances of any actor I have seen on the screen. Coffee is for closers!!! Great movie and great pick by Anderson

  15. Bryan-You mentioned you never have seen a great TV movie. One of the best things I have ever seen is “House of Sadam”. It is a HBO “miniseries”, so I guess it’s not strictly a “TV Movie”. But it is fantastic. Check it out.

  18. Re: the conversation about why the Iranian filmmaker didn’t just leave the country and go to Kuwait. Does Anderson actually think Iran and Kuwait share a border? Or does he just treat Iran and Iraq as the same place? Not sure which would be worse.

Also, the new Pam Anderson is Kate Upton. Megan Fox is too thin with too much work done.

  21. Brian’s Song and Gia are both TV movies and are both great. I also love Duel.

Also, I tend to count miniseries as TV movies. Once you do that there are dozens that are great.

  22. Danny Glover played the butler? Must have been a different Royal Tenenbaums. The one I saw, he played the family’s accountant. If a black man is talking to rich people, he must be their servant Anderson? How dare you!

  25. Bryan’s #1 is a great, underrated movie that was RUINED for me by the theater framing the print wrong so we saw the boom mics the entire time!

Anderson was at his most miserable hipster/anti hipster best. More non-movie talk up front is always great for annoyed Anderson.
