I loved the part when Anderson was reading the list of movies listeners bought through amazon.
“…Election it looks like I bought that! From Dusk until Dawn I might have bought that! Platoon holy fuck my top three favorite movies of all time! the hammer……Naked Gun!” great silence for The Hammer

I wanted them to bring up the guy in “Trading Places” that just goes “Yeah!”
Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny?

How about Marshall Mcluhan’s appearance in the movie theater in ‘Annie Hall’? or the twin ghost girls in ‘The Shining?’

Hey Bryan, just a point of clarification: It wasn’t the glue that made hatters mad; It was the mercury they used to stiffen the felt.
Great show as always

Hey Guys, That was without a doubt your finest show. When John Cho said “That was a movie that people like” I almost drove my car off the road laughing. Also his choice of Jeff Goldblum in Annie Hall was inspired. I would add Shelly Hack as well in that movie for her line: “Uh, I’m very shallow and empty and I have no ideas and nothing interesting to say.”
Keep up the great work guys!

Richard Dreyfuss in the graduate…Do you want me to call the cops? Lucille, the hot chick washing the car in Cool Hand Luke. “lord please let that little button break”. Keenan Wynn in Dr. Strangelove….”I’ll get you some coins, but you are going to have to answer to the Coca Cola company” as he machine guns the coke machine and gets squirted in the face. The prostitute in Last Picture Show. “Never again for less than a dollar and a half”

Fantastic episode, chaps.
John Cho worked really well. He even made it seem semi-sincere when he said he listened to the show, which is nice. He had solid picks as well.
Severely disappointed that Jesus from The Big Lebowski was left to the Listener Top 5, though.

I finally watched “50/50.”
The scene when the main character is trying to pick up the sluts with sympathy plays

me.
“The chemo takes a lot out of me…. (sniff).”
HE LITERALLY SNIFFED. I died of laughter.
P.S. John Cho= great guest.

Great episode! But Anderson, you were wrong – Cho made two appearances on LL with Kal Penn to promote H & K in late 2004 and early 2005. A couple of the funniest Lovelines ever!

Great featured artist for sure.

Bryan – please see Resurrect Dead: The Mystery Of The Toynbee Tiles so you can tell Anderson how mediocre it was. Then hopefully he will stop talking about it so much.

Totally agree. I watched Resurrect Dead after hearing Anderson go on about it so much and was disappointed. There was no payoff and I found the “investigators” pathetic and annoying.
I think that Anderson’s opinion is heavily influenced because he saw one of the tiles in person before he knew about the movie.

the featured artist was actually really good on this ep.

Young Adult is a great film. It is about the prom queen who peaks in high school and spends the rest of her life trying to recapture her prom queen status. She returns home to get back with her old boyfriend, who is now happily married with a child. It is funny, it is poignant, and Patton Oswalt is great in it. Sorry Brian, I disagree.
