  2. This category was too broad. A good follow up, would be the best use of popular music in a film. So one music moment like Head Over Heals by Tears for Fears in Donnie Darko and Total Control by the Motels in Something Wild. Get on it, Logan.

  6. I really like Anderson and Bryan and have been listening toThe Film Vault since it was on the ACE broadcasting network. This latest iteration of the show has been difficult to listen to though. This episode was a perfect example of why. The guys talk over each other, don’t focus on the subject at hand and Anderson whispers his list choices. I still learn a lot when listening and get some great new movies to watch but it becoming less and less enjoyable. Once they start doing the show more for the listeners than themselves the show can go from almost awesome to awesome.

  9. This is definitely personal, so I get it… mine: (500) Days of Summer, Marie Antoinette, Tank Girl. And of all of the perfect movie-song pairings, I’m going to go with Donnie Darko’s “Mad World”.

  10. I hate to break it to you guys, but all of your lists are subjective. The only objective truth about movies is that Lucas should have never started messing with the original trilogy.

  17. this is the second soundtracks show i’ve been thru and still no mention of “singles”. what gives?!?! seattle in the early 90’s movie directed by cameron crowe, with live performances by alice in chains and sound garden? featuring acting roles from eddie vedar and the rest of pearl jam? cameo by chris cornell? what gives?!?!
the movie isn’t great, but the soundtrack is amazing. still to this day, the songs are very grunge, but hold up.
come on guys. i’d twitter you my coments, but i don’t know how that thing works, and facebook is just too annoying to spend any time with. so if this message gets to you… answer for your atrocities!

  19. I finally got my “Black Dynamite” flic-fession. Just admit you liked it Anderson, fucking hipster.

I am now going be bugging you guys to watch “Last of the Mohicans”. Neither one of you have seen it and I really don’t know if you will like it or not. I will say the last 15 minutes of film is top-notch.

Can’t believe you got soundtracks and scores mixed up Anderson, you should be ashamed. That’s on you.

  20. I haven’t listen to the episode yet, but is there a distinction between “soundtracks” and “film scores?” And any love to my Jerry Goldsmith. If you don’t know, he is the best, or was (*sniff.)
