  1. Bryan, Madeline Kahn made four films with Mel Brooks:
    – Blazing Saddles
    – Young Frankenstein
    – High Anxiety
    – History of the World, Part 1

And yes, she was fantastic in all of them.

  2. You guys are awesome, I’m listening to a pile of TFV I had saved up while I walk my dogs this week. The neighbors think I’ve lost it as I chuckle my way around the block. Keep up the great work! I suggest “top 5 movies that have been badly retooled by their creators.”. Like Lucas and star wars, superman 2 (donner edition), heck, even the original Star TrekTMP has been redone (news to me until yesterday). Rock on!

  3. BB,
What was that comment that no one buys TiVo’s anymore. You must be crazy. TiVo is the superior DVR out there.

  4. When I saw this picture, I heard Bryan’s drop “dude are you gay?”

I love the film vault, keep up the great work guys.

  5. Hey Anderson, next time BB loses at gambling (i.e. this week) You should have him watch True Lies.
At about 1:06:30 he declared, without a hint of sarcasm, that True Lies was “not a comedic movie”. Maybe it’s been a long time, maybe he never saw it, maybe it’s the brain tumour hard at work again, or maybe it’s just his total lack of cinematic appreciation adding to the show’s charm. Either way, he made me laugh.

IMDB reviewers disagree wholeheartedly with BB.
    “Preposterous? Yes! Hilarious? YES!!!”
“A magnificent screenplay that alternates action with comedy”
“There is so much energy in this film, so much comedy, so much of everything for everyone that I really can’t see how anyone could not like this film.”

    I could go on.

    And I will:
“The blend of incredible action sequences and hilarious comedy is perfect.”
“Classic Arnie one-liners make this movie an awesome comedy while the stunning action sequences blends into the best Action-Comedy ever made!”
“The bad guys are evil, the good guys are funny”
“It has a really original story which is hard to find in an action movie and it’s a funny parody on James Bond films.”

And according to BB, just a straight up action/thriller in which Jamie Lee Curtis provided some light comic relief.

  6. “[Carolla] said terrible things about women being unfunny.” Actually he didn’t. Next time do a little research.
Also, it annoys me when you guys say “crossover”. What you mean is “overlap”.
And I have no idea why I am addressing you guys. You don’t read this.
    Good day.

    • I like posting here but also feel no one reads it. Anderson even deleted one of my comments on his site! And it was (mostly) positive! The Facebook page seems to be the way to go. Facebook stinks.

      • Yeah, Anderson edited a comment of mine on his site taking out something that was trying to help him. But whatever, if he doesn’t want my traffic no problem with me.

  7. Bryan: where’s Rosalind Russell from His Gal Friday? Perfect strong character with wit throughout. Plus plenty of quotable punchlines. I am disappoint.

  8. Bryan, poking fun at your boss? Isn’t this what got you fired from LoveLine?

  10. I thought this was going to be a tough one since, like Anderson, I feel most roles in movies for women are pretty terrible. Bryan’s #3 would have been my #1 but great choices all around. But gang, enough with Bridesmaids. Maybe the most overrated comedy of all time.
And where is Bryan’s review of Irreversible? Make him watch Martyrs as punishment!

    • McCarthy was fantastic, but you’re so right about Bridesmaids. It was too long, too disjointed and Wiig’s character arc was so depressing that it took away from the funny.
