aren’t all of Nick Cage’s roles comedic?

Perhaps it is bad form to throw out glaring omissions, but I would have bet a space ice cream bar that Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder would have been on one of their lists.

in the middle of the episode, anderson remarks that bryan often will describe everything about the movie except the title and how much it bothers him and then not a 1/2 hour later does the exact same thing to bryan about fred: the movie. anyone else notice this?
been listening since the ace days. thanks for all the fun banter and movie analysis!

We Need to Talk About Kevin was awesome I don’t wanna give anything away, but it weirdly reminds me of a movie with an animal in the title.

I actually liked Elephant better.

How is it between the 3 of them they couldn’t figure out Jeff Who Lives at Home?

I watched “The Master” a couple of days ago.
It’s the kind of movie that Anderson is probably jizzing himself over– aimless, pointless arthouse nonsense.
….not that every movie that he likes has those themes, but he especially likes “The Master” kind of movies
PTA’s worst.
To date, “Beasts of The Southern Wild” remains the best film of 2012.

I’m so glad Anderson made Bald Bryan watch Fred! He deserved it so much for making Anderson watch both Just Friends and The 3 Stooges! Anderson always makes him watch decent movies that he just hasn’t seen, but Bryan the jerk always picks the worst flicks!! Also, I hope Bryan gets diarrhea.

You both drastically undersold Sleepwalk with Me. I saw it on Thursday and I, like most of the two dozen or so people in the theater, was cackling with laughter, especially the final twenty minutes. A beautiful little film.
Also, the way Anderson insists on garbling the word “program” drives me fucking batty.

*raises hand* That was me buying all the CBale movies, including “Reign of Fire.” I wanted to round out my CBale collection a bit before the Amazon sales tax kicked in here in CA.
On a related note, I think “American Psycho” would be fun for Snifftrax!
And thanks for the “To Die For” mention, Anderson. Love that movie!

I’m sorry but if Anderson had READ we need to talk about kevin he would be saying some very different things about the movie. As usual the book is so much better and they fucked up the ending so badly in the movie.

Thanks for the reminder about Burgess Meredith. I’m a major fan of the “Rocky” series, and I love the Adam West Batman series.
I forgot that he was in GOM, and I realized that I haven’t watched it since I saw it in a theater 546 years ago.
btw, wtf happened to this show midway through?

The problem with choosing Val Kilmer as a dramatic actor in comedy – when comedy was his first film (much like Sean Penn in Fast Times) is you could then easily state Tom Hanks in Splash or Bachelor Party, etc., is the same thing – which was completely ruled out as a possibility in the prior episode (comedic actors in dramas). I DEMAND CONSISTENCY

I bought America In Primetime. It’s terrific. I watched it like 2 weeks ago.

Battle Royale was pretty decent. One drawback was the high number of “dramatic last words” death scenes. It should have been called Battle Royale with Cheese.
Fred is probably unwatchable. I made it 5 minutes.

Bryan likes a movie about redemption for a fat guy? Wonder why…

I thought We Need to Talk About Kevin was terrible. If it had been 45 minutes or so it might have been okay, but it started near the end, and you could tell that the whole movie was going to keep referring to whatever happened in the last 10 minutes or so, and I didn’t care much about anything going on for all that time. It has a bunch of time lines moving along the whole time, and it jumps back and forth between them for no good reason.

Scottie, you’re off base, dog. Kevin was an amazing movie. Possibly, best I’ve seen in 2012.

Some of what you guys were talking about at the end of the show tied in with an idea I’ve had for a while. Why not let listeners bid/donate money to get you guys to flickfess certain films. You could either set it up as some sort of auction every week, or just set up a minimum dollar amount to donate, and the donor can then pick a movie Anderson or Bryan has to watch, either in their normal flickfession, or when they lose at gambling. The money could go towards Anderson’s honeymoon, too. I know I’d like to support the show this way, and I wonder if any other listeners would participate as well if this were an option?

Cool idea David, Brings the listeners closer to the show.
Bald Bryan needs to see “Apocalypto”. That is a fiickfession I’ve been waiting on for quite some time.
