No matter what you think of P.T anderson’s films, he is like Kubrick, all of his films are a series of scenes that visually get inside your soul. A meticously artist who is in command of his craft. Malick, Hitchcock, Kubrick,P.T Anderson, and the Coen Brothers. Even when they fail, and they rarely do, it is spectacular art.

I liked Looper, but I’m not as enamoured with it as many seem to be. I need to watch it again and see if expectations played a role.
The Cabin in the Woods remained my favorite film of the year. I liked the Oscar films I saw, but all of them had their flaws (the end of Argo, the beginning of Pi, the pacing of ZDT and Django) where Cabin felt nearly perfect from beginning to end.

Trying to Kill a boy to prevent his impact on the future. It is also a rip off of the twilight zone episode It’s a Good life by short Story writer Jerome Bixby, the famous episode that was also featured in the Twilight zone movie. The child with god like power who would send people to the cornfield he didn;t like. Finally a teacher steps up and teaches the child to use his power for good. What a double rip off Looper is. They even copied the use of the corn field. No wonder the academy awards ignored it, I guessed the ending almost half way through the movie. What an unoriginal rip off!!!!!!!!

The smug bald dude’s “needlessly elaborate” phrase sprung to my mind quite often while I watched it.
It’s the kind of film that causes you to ask, “why are films getting more and more needlessly elaborate?” Then I remembered “Vertigo’s” plot. Filmmakers have had a habit of testing our suspension of disbelief for quite a long time.

Argo is made without a flaw which makes it that much more boring. Looper had taken a chance and Levitt should have been up for an Oscar – they both should have won – I can’t get both out of my mind – amazing film and acting.

Inception was original-something we had never seen before (the world of dreams). Time travel has been done a thousand time over, and like Stevo mentions above, it rips off a lot of other films. It was enjoyable, but not that good.
