  1. Westerns featuring a kidnapping probably number in the three figures by now (including great ones like Little Big Man and The Searchers). But a very recent Western, Good For Nothing, is as good a modern Western as I’ve seen recently, and I include Appaloosa and Open Range among the decent entries in modern years. Also, is has a bit of resonance back to The Collector, which Anderson mentioned in his list in this edition of the podcast. Good For Nothing, with unknown but solid actors, from a first time director/writer, produced in New Zealand, and certainly under the radar, and underrated. Check it out.

  2. Thank you Anderson for mentioning Breakdown, loved this movie when I saw it in an empty theater with my friends when it came out. Have watched it 3-4 times sense, still holds up. You get a nice foreshadow of his action style on Term 3.

  4. Hey guys, totally off-topic but I’ve tried looking through honorable mentions and the search function and couldn’t find anything. Anderson commented on Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer a few months ago and I wanted to hear his thoughts on it. Anyone know what episode or know of a better way to find it?

    Thanks

  5. Anderson should really stop complaining about Brian interupting him considering Anderson constantly interupts Brian.

  6. Please God, replace Bryan with Logan. It’s real fucking old.

Bryan, people get sick and don’t complain. You should be one of those people.

    • Riiiiiiiiiiight. How dare he? Bryan’s selfish need to offer the occasional comment about feeling a little off due to the chemotherapy is clearly an affront to God. Bryan has become a world class dirt-bag who appears high on the all-time scale of evil depravity somewhere between Rasputin and Hitler.

You, sir, are a true American Hero. Thank you for calling attention to this important issue.

    • Dude, you joking?

It’s great commitment he’s shown. Many times when people get sick they take days off, he didn’t he had a full on day, for the goodness of the show.

Sick and with cancer and you’re telling him he shouldn’t complain…

      • I get complaining or offering a disclaimer in the beginning but the entire episode is fucking obnoxious.

  7. My favorite movie that involved a kidnapping was a made for tv movie called I know my first name is Steven. It’s about a boy Stephen Stayner that gets kidnapped and is raised by a man and when he gets to about 15 years old the man kidnaps another boy. Stephen escapes with this boy and tries to adjust to his biological family. Very interesting, I have read about the family a lot and there are some differences in the movie (which is 3 hours long) and what really happened. His brother Cary Stayner is actually the Yosemite killer. The movie is on Youtube if anybody wants to watch it.

  9. I’m starting to wonder if Anderson’s “STOP INTERRUPTING ME” shtick is self-aware irony, because he interrupts Bryan with pretty much the same frequency as Bryan interrupts him. In one instance, he interrupts Bryan, and as soon as Bryan tries to start up where he was before Anderson interrupted, Anderson gets all indignant about Bryan interrupting him.

  10. Anderson’s Egregious Error of the Week candidate:

You’ve Been Trumped was “like a Scottish Michael Moore on Rolaids.”

Awesome, if intended. But I suspect you meant “steroids.”

  12. Granted, Bryan was annoying as fuck, BUT
I feel like the next bit of fan art should be a late 1800’s political cartoon style image of Bryan splayed out in the desert with Logan and Anderson as vultures picking the mic out of his hand.

    • I want to add that Logan has never been shady and even glowered at Anderson when he was inappropriate about Bryan’s condition — just art, ya know

  14. Wow, I totally agree with both of your lists. Great movies mentioned today. Two things I’d like to say about 2 movies mentioned. First, I loved Richard Farnsworth in Misery, he was one of the best parts. And 2, I thought : Jeff Bridges was fantastic in The Vanishing. Diabolical.

    HELL TO THE YES

Check out Red Rock West for a great J.T. Walsh role. (Also an underrated Nic Cage movie).

    Vanishing did come up before.

Also, loved hearing the old podcast that one time. “This a movie people like”, would love to hear others on off weeks.
