  1. Telly from kids?!? Not a douche! There is nothing fake about him, he’s pure shit, and has no soul, but he’s not a douche.

  2. Half of the characters you guys mentioned aren’t douchebags – they’re sociopaths. Telly from kids is not a douchebag, he’s a criminal sociopath. Stalin from Better Off Dead is a douchebag. See the difference?

Also, fucking Transformers Bryan? C’mon man. This was the best topic you guys have had in weeks and you still managed to fuck up a portion of it.

  4. Oh man, the non-Charlie kids in the classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Horrible spoiled children are timeless, those kids are still cringe-worthy today.

  5. Bill Paxton also plays a douche in Vertical Limit. It’s a terrible movie but expands on Paxton’s douche repertoire.

  6. This could really be spun off into documentaries too. Here’s my Top 5 Doc-Douches (not sure if saying ‘doc’ makes me a douche actually)..

    5 – Joe Bishop – Murderball
4 – Michael Moore – Bowling for Columbine
3 – Almost everyone in Inside Job
    2 – Troy Duffy – Overnight
1 – Billy Mitchell – The King of Kong

  8. Is it just me or does this website grind everyone’s browser to a halt? I look forward to my weekly dose of TFV, but it’s painfully slow to navigate this website. Especially when clicking on IMDB links in the “list of films discussed” section.

  9. It’s kinda silly, but I love it when they mention stuff I bought on the Amazon list. (I had the giant beanbag Logan had to look up, and DVD of The Thing (which we watched from the beanbag-pretty awesome!) I played the segment for my 10 year-old, who was thrilled. Thanks for the love, guys, and glad to support the show!

  10. Two new titles are now on Netflix Instant as of 1-June based on Anderson’s Top 5 and flickfession recommends. “Batman: The Movie” is now streaming based on Mike Carano’s list from the Comic Book episode (5-Aug-2010):

    – Platoon (1986) [AC]
    – The Longest Yard (1974) [AC]
    – Batman: The Movie (1966) [MC]

    IMDb playlist: http://www.imdb.com/list/xuupjtme31U/

Two titles dropped off Netflix Instant on 1-June:

    – Sling Blade (1996)
    – The Karate Kid (1984)

  11. LOGAAAaaan! I listened to last week’s episode and didn’t pick up on the Star Trek spoiler. Thanks for highlighting it extensively and Ruining the movie for me! You three should save that kind of talk for the last five minutes if the show.

  13. Anderson’s egregious error of the week is referring the movie The Place Beyond the Pines as “The Place Behind the Pines.”

Great show. I would have included Buck (“My name is Buck, and I’m here to fuck”) from Kill Bill vol 1 on the douche list.

  14. I haven’t listened yet but I sure hope Seth Green’s character in CANT HARDLY WAIT is at least mentioned once. Also, I think that movie deserves a second look- it’s actually pretty funny

  15. Anderson and Bryan Star Trek talk wasn’t a spoiler. Anyone who is even half a fan would know it was him from the trailers. For anyone who isn’t a fan knowing the characters name won’t give anything away. That would be like you telling people that Darth Vader is the main villain of A New Hope.

    • Also, IMDB lists Cumberbatch as said character.

      • It was a major spoiler given the film itself took absurd pains to hide his identity until the big reveal, going so far as to invent a ridiculous reason to refer to him by another name. Identity heavily hinted at, but left in doubt by the trailers.

All this on top of Bryan’s horrific Oblivion spoiler that I won’t even discuss for fear of ruining a relatively new movie. If you’re looking at IMDB then you’re asking for spoilers. If you’re listening to The Film Vault then less so. Bad Anderson! Naughty Bryan!

      • That’s why I allways avoid IMDB until I’ve seen the said movie!

  19. If you guys are retiring movie mentions from the Amazon list, please get rid of Die Hard/Die Hard Collection, Alien Anthology, Iron Man and Looper. It seems like they’re mentioned every damn week.

  20. Hahahaha! It’s the perfect illustration for today’s topic.
P.S.: for people who have missed the dog rape, it kind of looks like it might be happening there with Stanley yet again.
