I just watched that and Hesher in the same day, and I gotta say Hesher was brilliant, but Premium Rush left a lot to be desired. I am only curious what you guys think because rotten tomatoes has it at 76%, but in my opinion it feels a lot lower than that. It’s sad to say it because I love Michael Shannon and am growing very fond of JoGo, but for some reason that movie fell flat for me. Hope you guys actually read this. Love the show fellas.

I would quote “Dude, Where’s My Car?” and GI Joe movies.
Then when he thought I was just a vacuous “tragically hip” moron I would say things like, “BRO, and that one scene– that scene in Clockwork Orange, bro in the theater… Brill, bro…” or “Buffalo 66– when they’re in that photo booth thing… SO CHILL, brah.”
I would just make him question everything about himself. I could probably do it if I could restrain my laughter.
He is a bit too judgmental of people and anally introspective.

The older boy is the only one to witness the killing, the younder son who had nothing to do with it is killed with the mom, which makes it more tragic. I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t Newman who had the the family killed, it was Newman’s idiot son, Newman just wouldn’t give him up to Hanks.

What makes this extra funny is that one of the predominant identifying factor of the North Midlands dialect in the US is the pronunciation of Ts. North Midlanders don’t pronunciate it very often or they exchange it for a D if it lands in the middle or end of the word. Don’t=Doen’, Often=Offen, Wouldn’t=Wouldn’, Theater=TheaDer, Certain=Cer’en, etc…
If you guys remember a few weeks/months back, Anderson was accosted by some Nebraskans due to his disparaging remarks regarding that fine state. Well here’s a map of US dialects and you’ll see that Nebraska lands squarely amongst the North Midlanders.
I’m going to pretend that the listener who shat on Anderson regarding “often” was just a pissed off Nebraskan.
Oh, and to bring this back to film, when foreigners learn a “general American” accent, they study a dialect closest to the North Midlands dialect. It’s an English dialect with some of the least inflexion of any in the world. That makes it easier to learn and also easier to understand.
