I saw Rush a while back and loved it. I agree it was a little Hollywood (I thought the last scene between Hunt and Lauda was heavy-handed), but you guys kind of contradict yourselves when making your point. You ripped it for being Hollywood, but then were angry that they didn’t give you a clear protagonist. I thought that was what made Rush so great. You had 2 great characters who you both loved and hated at points. Plus Bruhl and Hemsworth were perfectly cast and could not have done a better acting job. The movie isn’t necessarily about racing. It’s more about the two characters ideologies on life and their drive to win. The film probably should’ve been titled “Drive.” I think it rightfully deserves it’s RT score.

What did Bryan say “Devil’s Knot” sounded like?

Anderson: “A Hijacking” is NOT Norwegian, it`s Danish. Although I appreciate the publicity you give our great country, It`s not fair to Denmark. If you want to talk about norwegian fiilm, please mention Oslo 31. August, which is in my oppinion one of THE greeat norwegian films. Anyways – great show, always enjoy listening to you guys. Really just a lurker, but something had to be done about “A Hijacking” since this is the third episode or something you do this error and no one has said anything yet.

just watched “Rush”…. loved it
As for “it’s too Hollywood-ized,” hey, guys, let’s ask one of the real people who was there:
“When I saw it the first time I was impressed. There was no Hollywood changes or things changed a little bit Hollywood-like. It is very accurate. And this really surprised me very positively.” -Niki Lauda
So….. Eat it.

Thanks Bryan for chiming in with what I’ve thought every time Anderson mentions “Devil’s Knot.”
I had a hard laugh.

Anderson, please stop assigning movies to Bryan that you know he is planning on seeing anyway. He already said he is going to see Prisoners. Pick something classic he hasn’t seen. You know, the ones that make you go off mike and scream. At least one of those comes up every episode. What is the point if he already said he’s in?

Bryan does the exact same thing. Or he’ll just see a movie and assign it to Anderson immediately after seeing it. It gets a little annoying because then we have to hear a review of the same movie two consecutive weeks. It just seems very lazy. I agree though, Anderson has seen so many movies, and so many good ones to boot, that he should just draw from his vast library of films and assign Bryan something classic.

Totally agree. They need to stop assigning movies they were going to see anyway.

I miss old Bald Bryan. I don’t like this new movie snob BB. Shits on the major Hollywood release, but likes the French film (with subtitles) and the documentary. Where is my old Transformer loving BB?
