To me, it’s the equivalent of going to a musical with amazing sets and technological marvels and having them sing Britney Spears. Yes, ‘All Is Lost’ with Robert Redford is the kind of gripping I longed for in ‘Gravity’. They took the easy way out.
Bryan – this was a few episodes ago, but I was so glad you mentioned that horrible line in ‘In a World’. I don’t pretend to know films, but at the end, when that guy said that line – I don’t even remember what he said – but it COMPLETELY took me out of the movie – and I wondered, “What was that????” Thank you for pointing that out, it was a really sour note in an otherwise delightful movie.
You guys are getting sooooo close to increasing the 8%! You’re consistently so much less offensive to women and STILL a great show that one day, I may feel comfortable recommending you to female friends. You heard me. ::sniff::

Is this some kind of artsy pick because its a foreign film? If that exact same movie was in English no one would mention it. It’s awful. Everything about it is slow and boring. Its not scary, creepy, or thrilling in any way shape or form. The characters talk slow, the plot develops slow, everyone walks slow, the music is slow. Its a 2 hour movie where not a whole lot happens.
Rant over. However, the part they mentioned that “made no sense” was completely explained in the movie. vampire goes to the house and walks in without being invited. She starts to have some serious physical effects and the person, seeing this, invites her in. Physical effect over and the vampire is feeling OK again. The scene continues on from there. Its never brought up again because it doesn’t need to be, and the movie thankfully ends 20 minutes later.

Between Tyler’s hideously annoying saliva-swishing “laughter,” his interruptions every three seconds with a 14-year-old’s voice and now inability to even capture Carono’s audio properly, he has become pretty intolerable.
Also, that episode skips so much that by the 49 minute mark it’s literally unlistenable.
It might be time to bring in (glances at Logan)

Beautifully shot with some really great contrasts of colour in scenes and a central love story that is deliciously twisted. Plus Ok-Bin Kim is very, very, very sexy in the film :poundit:

There have been many comments through the years on the show that paints the Midwest as lesser fly over country. If I didn’t understand him correctly this time that is on me – but, I can assure you they have exhibited the typical CA attitude about the rest of the country. Californians always do, it’s part of their wild self-centeredness.
Now, that being said, I do love the show!
