  2. I just watched “Wolf of Wall Street” a few hours ago… and I think that my brain jizzed.
In a year of great movies, it is the best.

  4. I ALSO WANT TO ADD that I’m listening to other film podcasts’ top 5 or top 10 movies of 2013, and I’m reading other sites’ top 10 or even top 50 films of 2013. **No one** is mentioning “In A World” in any damn capacity– even on top 50 lists.
But I’m certain that both of these guys will rank it near #1 on their inevitable top 5 2013 lists.

  5. For the people out there who shy away from old movie i HIGHLY agree with Anderson on “a face in the crowd”
A fantastic film thats is still watchable because the themes are all still relevant today, just look at celebrity and reality show stars. Totally holds up and does not feel dated.

I agree “the killer inside” me is terrible

I love “TAOJJBTCRF” even though i am not usually a fan of slow movies. The guys forgot to mention how beautiful the cinematography is, so even if you hate the story you can enjoy the pretty pictures.

  6. Thanks Bryan for Bale love. By the way – first time. Second, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is not a hipster title – in hipsterville everyone’s brave Anderson. Third, this is a great podcast because it’s evident that you guys love movies – passion in anything is seductive – so quit the self-love or self-loathing and know you two are just vehicles for what we the audience love – movies.

  7. Here is a spoiler…listen to Carolla and you’ll hear exactly what Bryan will say on the Film Vault – only 3 days earlier.

  8. This is the one podcast I listen to week after week, good shows and bad. Does anyone else notice Bryan incorporating all of Anderson’s mannerisms week after week? I first started noticing it with the sniff and then Anderson’s over-excited inflection.

  12. Guys, American Hustle just came out. Most of us don’t have access to early screenings. I had to fast forward through the first 20 mins or so to avoid hearing about it. Now i’m at minute 50 and the conversation has veered back towards it. What ever happened to not being “that show” that just talked about new movies? Maybe save AH discussion for the end of the show? To make avoiding spoilers a little easier for us.

    • Most of us in L.A. didn’t know that it was released early for us and New Yorkers. Cut some slack to them.
Also, I couldn’t disagree more with their analysis about it, but I understand 10,000 times more why someone might consider this film great more than I understand why someone would think that “In a World…” is great. I can’t believe they droned on about that crap one again. Part of me just thinks that the guys have a fuck fantasy about Lake Bell because they’ve had access to her in the past.
At the very least “American Hustle” has structure it’s vertebrate– “In a World..” is a bowl of jello… with raisins… and fish turds…

    • What spoilers did they give out for American Hustle? I didn’t hear them say anything revealing about the movie other than what they liked about it. A spoiler is giving away a major plot twist or discussing the ending. They did no such thing.

    • From now on they should only list movies. No discussion, on the off chance someone listening might not have seen the movie. Not even movies that they’ve seen, we wouldn’t want any commentary, just a list of random movies by each of them. The show will be 43 seconds long.
