  4. I love this show and have been listening from the beginning. Outside of the unlistenable 2012 Christmas show, this was probably the worst episode you’ve done.

The last 5 or 6+ eps have started off with Anderson complaining about the topic which is REALLY tiresome. Being the last few topics have been pretty weak, why don’t we let Anderson get the rock and take a few shots at this?

    • I have to agree. Is it that hard to pick an interesting topic? I don’t like to hear Anderson complain about a topic, but he is right when he says that it is dumb to talk about movies that are not good but meet the topic requirement. I don’t want to hear Anderson bitching about spoilers (to the extreme) either even though BB has made some spoilers in the past.

The whole Big Lebowski fiasco also casts some doubt on how qualified BB is to talk about movies when he seems to have misunderstood a basic plot point.

This has been one of my go-to podcasts but You Slippin’.

  5. Why are you guys so everywhere with your tastes – I’ve loved most of Anderson’s choices, but “Prince Acalanche”? Other than the title – 5 minutes in and some old-guy-transportation-guy asks the two main characters (who are also DOT guys) “why are you in the road? What? They work there! Also Bryan The Terminal isn’t that bad – in fact Andetson see it – Tuccis great in it.

  6. Have you guys seen the documentary “BRONIES” yet? It’s on FlucFlix. Kinda reminded me of “Chasing Ghosts” but not as relateable (for me– because I don’t like ponies, personally)

  7. So about this episode; how was Val Kilmer’s performance in The Doors not even mentioned? That movie was a self -indulgent piece of garbage with a brilliant portrayal of Jim Morrison. Val Kilmer WAS Jim Morrison in that movie.

    • I’d start directing all your comments towards Logan. With all this animus, he’ll soon be the only one left reading, presuming the poor baby can get through his overwhelming burden of 175 pages a week (which equals a truly unfair 25 minutes/day). Students these days… they’re just pushed so hard.

  13. The Pledge is a great movie, dammit. Also, I would pay a premium for an audiobook version of Shrinkage read by Anderson. Let me rephrase that, I would give my first-born child for that particular audiobook.

  16. Guys, I was trying to make it into a joke when I wouldn’t let the Brandt thing go. Sorry, thought that was obvious.

…as obvious as Brandt paying to watch Bunny give BJs.

    SNIFF.

    • Completely agree the last few episodes he’s acted like a spoilt child. This topic was awful and this episode should have been lost somewhere on the digital airwaves. Very uncomfortable to listen to at the start

  19. As much as I hate taking sides with the bald one, I have to say that Anderson is getting out of control with his shaming of Bryan for spoiling movies. Admittedly, I am not a person who minds having movies spoiled and I understand there are people out there that like to be surprised by a movie. But its reached the point where he flies off the handle for Bryan even mentioning the fact that a movie even has an ending. All I ask is that you dial it back a little with the anti spoiler rhetoric. In all other aspects, please keep up the good work and continue putting Bryan in his place! Love the show

  20. Anderson defaulted to No on the topic, of course, but it would have been nice if he had used it as an opportunity to spotlight underrated actors who had done good work in bad movies, and deserved better parts.

  22. Anderson,

The location of the frog scene in Magnolia isn’t at all confusing. It’s movie magic 101. The scene before that, when John C Reily drives by Melinda Dillon at the stop light, is at Laurel and Victory. Then 30 seconds later, he’s at Sherman Way and Reseda. PTA is just compressing space, and 99% of the viewers are none the wiser. The show 24 does it all the time, like when people get from the valley to downtown in 5 minutes. Most people don’t live here, so most people don’t notice. Sloppy? Maybe. Confusing? No.

  24. My God, Bryan is deluded.

His whole argument about that scene in The Big Lebowski is the most inane, bullshit, garbage I’ve ever heard.

    WHAT A FUCKING MORON.

  25. Bryan, I was willing to consider your argument about the Big Lebowski. That was up until you said it was “embarassing for us” that we couldn’t see it your way. Come down off that stack of books you are treating like Mt.Pious asshole.
