The whole point of the segment is for you each to have your turn to talk about movies you’ve seen. Obviously you have the better tastes in movies & a greater range but not everyone has the same tastes as you & Bryan is the counter balance to that. Calm down & let the show run it’s course. At what point does “fighting” become just a lack of dignity? On imdb, viewers of the film and I have guessed that the video of Ebert in his last years totaled *probably* 45 minutes of the 2 hour documentary, which would have been too long even if he were in relatively good health in his last days. The fact that Ebert and the documentarian forced us to watch things that were entirely unnecessary to understanding the man and left a grotesque imprint in our minds about him is inexcusable. It wasn’t heroic. It was just ignominious reality-TV-style porn, and it often occurred during moments when the film was displaying great bits from the Siskel and Ebert show or interesting facts about his life. Also, they almost seemed as if they were damning Gene Siskel for keeping his condition private then dying quietly. You know what? I very much PREFERRED it, Roger. No offense. And if someone showed footage of the last years that I saw to me and said, “this is how you’re going to ‘live’ (heavy emphasis on those quotation marks) the rest of your life” I would *unquestionably* pick up a huge bottle of whiskey and a shotgun then head off into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.
And I wouldn’t film it.
If this thing wins an Oscar I will lose even more respect for the Academy than I lost last year.

It’s sort of like kids today being warped by all this internet porn. I didn’t find the scene overwritten at all. These kids don’t know anything. Nothing about life, consequences, sex. It’s all about pretend. Sometimes I feel Bryan leans too much on stuff he learned in school. Most people that took the same classes, but that now make a living of that probably spent years unlearning all that in order to form their very own opinion.
