  1. Nobody mentioned the new Tim Burton film, Big Eyes?! I’m not even a Burton fan, but the film looks amazing. Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams, Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman…come on!

  2. Chong Li was tight. Chong Li must make a top 5.

  3. Anderson. I saw the Overnighters and White Bird…. at Sundance. The Overnighters was a really interesting doc with a twist. But it doesn’t really address the issue you brought up in the podcast regarding racism.

As for White Bird, I would suggest that you strongly temper your expectations. It was VERY ungood, in my opinion. Incidentally, I saw Frank as well, which I really enjoyed as a point of reference on my taste in movies. Gabriel and the other sidekick of the main character were especially ungood performances in that movie. But as a whole it was a waste of two hours of my life.

  4. SEX/NUDITY – A mother pig is shown with her babies suckling.

“A piglet falls off a pile of logs. The sounds of a duck being killed are suggested. A dog
chases and hits a pig. Two dogs fight and one ends up biting a man on the arm. A pack of
dogs attack sheep: one dies from a bloody neck wound. A man points a shotgun at a pig.
Talk of death and being killed.”

  5. The parental guide on IMDB is not a new feature and is not written by critics or members of the MPAA. It is written by IMDB users. Check out some of the more poorly worded ones on there that use words such as “boobs,” “bush,” or “dick.” Not to mention awful grammar.

  7. Holy shit! There are so many cunts on here. That was not enjoyable at all. If I had feelings they’d be very hurt.

    • Well “Anderson” welcome to the troll bridge that is the comments section (for the most part). We can all do a better podcast than you and every weekly episode would be gold from start to finish because we have so much experience in film criticism and radio. People used to hate on Bryan non-stop but the winds have changed. I look forward to downloading every week, don’t ever change.

You two pabs still haven’t mentioned Starred Up.

  8. Please talk about Gone Girl on the next week cause I just saw it last night and was blown away. I would rank it among Fincher’s best works which I consider to be Zodiac and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (can’t believe Bryan considers these his worst!).

  9. I don’t think the listeners lose when you lose at the gambling for the reasons you think, Anderson… the listeners lose when you bitch and whine and carry on and act insulted that bryan can pick a movie for you to watch and that it is so far beneath you… the whole point of the gambling i thought was to force you to watch a movie that normally wouldn’t cross your path, not to assign you something you’re going to watch regardless… and you default to not liking every movie he assigns you, just stop the gambling thing if you’re going to be a cunt about it

Also you said a few eps ago that the comment about whispering or zooming past the movie titles was a non issue as you’ve gotten better at not doing it over the last few years… pretty sure you meant to say gotten worse

  10. So…it’s finally time to stop downloading the Film Vault and clicking through to Amazon. Bryan killed it for me with one sentence: “Even when PTA isn’t at his best like with The Master…”

Anyone who hosts a film podcast and cannot grasp the fact that The Master is one of the finest achievements in American film has nothing to say that I want to hear.

    See ya, guys.

  11. Anderson,
Why is Bryan not allowed to speak when you are doing your Flixfessions? But you can interrupt, giggle and make obnoxious noises when Bryan is doing his? (Go back and listen to yourself when Bryan was talking about Touch of Evil). You do realize that you are the sidekick on this show? This show was Bryan’s creation and you are just along for the ride. So be quiet! It’s not funny.

    • The “Touch of Evil” interruptions were unbelievably annoying, as were the constant reads from the imdb parent guides. Does anyone give a shit about imdb parent guides or think that they are funny?

  12. Anybody else think that when Anderson receives an angry or insulting email about Bryan, he parades around the house doing his best Chong Li (Bloodsport) impression: an anatomically incorrect, bulging physique crammed into a 3 size too small “nosrednA” or “CCP” t-shirt, pumping both fists in the air (the email crammed in one) chanting Baldy! Baldy! Baldy!
