  3. Sleepaway Camp would have been perfect to mention on bad movies with good endings. Really dumb movie, but as AC mentioned, it is enjoyable because it is so bad. One other detail I noticed while watching it the one and only time I sat through it, it was a SUMMER camp, but the outside shots clearly show the leaves were changing. So obviously shot at a camp after the season.

  5. I liked this concept, I’d like to see more lists that give the opportunity for creative reinterpretation! For some reason the first film that popped into my head on this topic was ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ – Del is a serial killer on the run from the law, and continues his spree on his trip with Neal, without Neal’s knowledge. Will Neal be next?

  6. I didn’t have high hopes for this topic, but I was really, pleasantly surprised. Anderson was far more engaged than usual, and it was fun listening to him pitch crazy horror reboots. Creativity suits him well. I’m glad they didn’t just borrow from the YouTube videos in which people recut movies as horror films.

  7. bryan you missed a great opportunity for a jojke. 48:48. Instead if saying “put that in your cart this holiday weekend” when referring to that beard product, you should have said “put that in your beard and stroke it.” Was that good enough to literally roll over, turn my monitor on(im listening while in bed) and typing all if this out at 3:30AM?

  9. Canada may not produce that many memorable movies but aside from Pontypool, Cube and Hard Core Logo are also excellent ones people should look out for.

  11. Anderson and Bryan, you should check out the documentary Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film. It covers the, as the title would suggest, the entirety of the boom of horror movies good and bad. In the 80’s, the genre had become so diluted that almost anyone could make a horror film, and they would! It also goes into great detail with Sleepaway Camp, which was one of my favorite parts of the documentary.

Also, upon hearing your guys’ assessment of the state of all the comic book movies coming out (which I wholeheartedly agreed with as I am not a fan of such films), it dawned on me that their are some parallels between that and the rash of horror movies in the 80’s diluting the market which was discussed in Going to Pieces. It’s not a great documentary, but any doc about movies in general always has some great stuff to ingest.

  12. Sleepaway camp in 720p is streaming on Youtube. Also, a decent interview with the actress who played… actually don’t listen to that until you’ve seen the final scene.
