  1. Yeah, boy. Anderson’s asking ‘Are you trying to kill the show?’ was an honest question.

  2. Update to previous communication: the opposition is getting very desperate.

Current status: Still standing in awe of the genius who is the author of “Shrinkage: Manhood, Marriage, and the Tumor That Tried to Kill Me,” a New York Times bestseller.

  3. Bryan,

Really? Another Teen Movie? Holy shit. You should be forced to watch Trash Humpers and Antichrist back to back.

  4. Bryan, this is your Big Fan reporting.

The opposition is desperate. Do not give in.

Please, double down on “Better with Biehn” ASAP.

  5. Bryan GODDAMMIT!!! I quit listening because of you. I thought I’d give it another shot. Between the constant interruptions and wasted shticks, I’m out. I don’t know how Anderson has dealt with it for so long.

  7. Man, Bryan is awful and unlistenable. I really wish Anderson had someone who knew and gave half a shit about movies to do a show with.

We don’t care about these terrible 80’s movies. At all. It’s not cute or funny Bryan.

  8. Get rid of Bryan, I can’t stand him anymore! He’s not funny and his movie reviews add almost nothing to the show. The time wasting bits he does are extremely annoying. And get a better producer, it was funny at first but it’s holding the show back.

  9. I have filed away in the back of my brain Bryan’s “high five!” and then clap. Know a few people where we have laid-back conference calls that would find that one pretty funny.

Don’t understand the Bryan hate TBH. It seems a point of pride for Anderson that he wants to come across as abrasive. If you have the Yin, must have the Yang.

  11. Bryan’s schtick is just so played out by now(not shocking considering he works for the king of played out schtick on a daily basis). Wish Anderson could find a true film fan to do the podcast with.

  12. Used to Love the show. Can you ask Bryan to keep his flicksfessions to 30 seconds so I can just hit the forward button twice? Anderson has grown on me as a good natured dick, Bryan is becoming a douche.

  14. (Part 2)
So it’s a movie that I understood the first time and knew that the vast majority of …. the masses… were going to misinterpret. Their misinterpretation causes me to hate it… Hate. It.
It’s like the Milgram Experiment on steroids. And Damien Chazelle knows it. Matthew Rhodes knows it.
It’s like an inside joke between smart people that isn’t really funny to me as much as it is “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled…” except the devil is right in their faces. With all of Fletcher’s scheming and manipulation, the most sinister manipulation was on the audience itself… the audience that applauded at the end of this film to fill the void of silence that Chazelle left for smart people to sneer at them– silence that actually meant “this isn’t worthy of applause.”

But keep bowing to your junior Hitlers, masses.

    • The first part of this comment is still not posting, and they will probably never allow it to post.
I basically stated that I wrote a tweet in which I wrote that JK Simmons provided shitty acting in a film that almost everyone misunderstood. It was favorited by the president of the film company that produced “Whiplash.”
Also, (apparently) I can’t post the link to the interview with the film’s director here, but he has stated that it’s a film about the main character capitulating to the dark side.

      • *sorry– meant to write “great acting in a shitty film that everyone misunderstood”
all of this cutting, pasting, rewriting and board rejection was pulling everything out of place in my brain

  19. I would absolutely be in favor of eliminating Flickfessions for The Vaulties and switching it to Top 10 of the years. Bryan’s ’80s cotton candy movie flickfessions were an abomination

    • I can’t believe that Bryan thinks there is some sort of value in flickfessing those 80’s movies. Worse, I can’t believe that I listened to it. And the glee in his voice when he exclaimed that he spoke about them, “at length!”

      • That’s a fair comment, but it’s equally hard to believe that Anderson thinks there is some sort of value in flickfessing these long, slow, obscure foreign films that no one will ever see.

  25. If you think that the end of Whiplash is “exhilarating” (as so many critics do) then you’re a moron.
As great as JK Simmons was at acting in the film, if you think that his character was admirable or motivated Andrew to a higher plane then you’re a moron.

Who favorited this tweet? The president of the production company for “Whiplash.”
A lot of people disagree with the two sentences with which I began this post. Cool, man. Just know that you’re also *disagreeing with the director himself.*

“For me, it’s interesting that at the end of the movie, a lot of people tend to react with a ‘Go get ’em, Andrew!’ attitude. In my mind, the ending is a little more tragic than that, someone who’s given himself over to the dark side.”
