It’s a podcast about movies and it doesn’t seem like this guy knows anything about them or has seen any classics. On Carolla’s podcast they all think he’s a genius so it boosts his ego but he’s just an average moviegoer who knows the basics. I tend to disagree with his opinions more often than not, but the show would be boring without his input. The differences in taste and knowledge between Anderson and Bryan is what I love, even when they lead to some of frustrating moments.You also have to recognize that his character on Carolla’s podcast fits the format and that audience, Apples and Oranges. That’s my two-cents.

I’m pretty sure the boot glass was a nod to Das Boot and that they wrote it into the script in anticipation of getting Prochnow in the movie. I mean, there’s a submarine scene. They knew what they were doing.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Dean and enjoy his music, but as a singer, he can’t hold a candle. And you said you didn’t like the lush “Wee Small Hours” but love the poppy stuff and his work with Nelson Riddle. Well I hate to tell you that “Wee Small Hours” WAS with Nelson Riddle. More accurately, you probably mean you like albums like “Songs for Swinging Lovers” and “Come Fly With Me”. I’m no apologist, Sinatra’s output from the late 60’s to the mid 70’s was complete shit when he was trying to re-craft pop songs and sounding ridiculous. “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” Frank? Put down the mic. Sorry for nerding out there, but I am a Sinatra-phile for decades and while I love your show, your observations on Sinatra made me want to throw my smartphone against the wall.
