  1. Thanks for playing the “Weird Science” bar scene, it’s classic! Also, Bryan good call on the scene in the fast food burger joint in “Sideways” The guy did hid rock bottom

  3. One more vote for the drinking episode! I love how mean Bryan gets! And Anderson sounds like he use to on early After Disasters! *swoon*

  4. Hey Bryan how can you hate “Strange Brew”? This seems like a film that’s right up your alley. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas in the classic 80’s comedy. I’m really shocked you think this movie is so bad. Have you even seen it?

  5. I gotta add my two-cents on how bad Bryan is. It’s a podcast about movies and it doesn’t seem like this guy knows anything about them or has seen any classics. On Carolla’s podcast they all think he’s a genius so it boosts his ego but he’s just an average moviegoer who knows the basics. I do have to mention that I get a laugh everytime he mentions he’s someone else…”Hi, I’m D.W. Griffith and you’re listening to the film vault”.

    • Sure Bryan has some gaps, even some glaring ones, but calling him “just an average moviegoer” isn’t fair. I tend to disagree with his opinions more often than not, but the show would be boring without his input. The differences in taste and knowledge between Anderson and Bryan is what I love, even when they lead to some of frustrating moments. You also have to recognize that his character on Carolla’s podcast fits the format and that audience, Apples and Oranges. That’s my two-cents.

  6. I loved this episode, glad you cut nothing out, but wouldn’t want it like this every week.
Bryan knows exactly how to get under Andersons skin when he wants to, its to easy.

    • Jürgen Prochnow plays the part of Baron Wolfgang von Wolfhausen in Beerfest. I’m pretty sure the boot glass was a nod to Das Boot and that they wrote it into the script in anticipation of getting Prochnow in the movie. I mean, there’s a submarine scene. They knew what they were doing.

      • Correct, he makes a comment while they are in the sub, “I had a bad experience in one of these before.” Which is meant as a little nod to Das Boot.

  18. And we have The Film Vault’s “Downtown Debacle”. The last hour was an absolute shit show. A drunk Bryan is insufferable.

  20. So many amazing classic movies that Bryan has not seen, as Anderson always criticizes him for, yet he always wastes his wins in the game with his lame “punishment” movies and never uses them to actually make Bryan watch classic movies. Lame.

That being said, this episode was hilarious!

  21. MY GOOODDD DOES BRYAN DRAG EVVERYTHING OUT!!!! every week Bryan slows the show down, seemingly out of love of his own voice. Bryan seems like the guy who throws a party, and MUST have a theme, and MUST be adhered too

  22. Bryan. I love you buddy but you NEED to stop saying shit like “Dean was a technically better singer than Sinatra.” Absolutely NO ONE who knows music has ever said those words ever. Don’t get me wrong, I love Dean and enjoy his music, but as a singer, he can’t hold a candle. And you said you didn’t like the lush “Wee Small Hours” but love the poppy stuff and his work with Nelson Riddle. Well I hate to tell you that “Wee Small Hours” WAS with Nelson Riddle. More accurately, you probably mean you like albums like “Songs for Swinging Lovers” and “Come Fly With Me”. I’m no apologist, Sinatra’s output from the late 60’s to the mid 70’s was complete shit when he was trying to re-craft pop songs and sounding ridiculous. “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” Frank? Put down the mic. Sorry for nerding out there, but I am a Sinatra-phile for decades and while I love your show, your observations on Sinatra made me want to throw my smartphone against the wall.
