You guys really pull some great, thoughtful, and sharp choices for this podcast! My hat’s off to Bryan in particular who is able to defend his choices without transforming into a raging dick. Anderson tends to resort to talking louder or being aggressively abrasive when he wants to be clever and disagree. Thanks, Bryan, to making this podcast listenable! I’m likewise Welsh and while the cinematography was great – beautiful scenes of Wales and lights on the water, it could not save the movie. A foiled movie choice Anderson. The shot of Stiller on TV just made me not like him more.

Bryan, if you are a fan of Stephen Tobolowsky, there is a great documentary that I think both of you would like called “Starz Inside: The Face Is Familiar”. It is only about 50 minutes, but highlights character actors. It is on Netflix disc only, but a fun documentary. It interviews Stephen Tobolowsky, Michael Madsen, Joan Cusack and many more. I don’t remember if you have mentioned it before on the show, but is worth checking out if you haven’t seen it.

stop praising Albert Brooks’ performance– praise the style of the movie or the tone or whatever gold nuggets we can pick out of the excrement. But stop with the “ALBERT BROOKS AND RON PERLMAN– MY GOD!”
It’s bad, bad, bad acting. That first scene in which those guys are conversing in the diner looks like something that was taken directly from a film school short film with two burnt-out L.A. actors who need work– even free work. That was my honest reaction to it when I watched it in a theater.
