How could you leave out “Deathwish” by Charles Bronson? It might be old but it’s about revenge.

Surprised Bryan didn’t mention The Incredibles.

You are both “Unforgiven” for not mentioning Unforgiven.

Even though I never listened to the podcast when it was on Adam’s Network, I did start listening to it after your exodus, and it’s great. Although, lately both BB and Anderson are starting to slip in terms of what they deem to be ‘great.’ First of all Anderson, ‘Falling Down’ as a great revenge movie? that steaming pile has got to be one of the most depressing films ever, filled with unlikable characters (and that includes Robert Duvall!) and a ho-hum story. And Bryan, ‘Gladiator’, in order to be even be considered worthy to be one of the best revenge movies would have to be at least be considered “Ben-Hur Lite”, which it most certainly is not. The best actor in that whole film (Richard Burton) gets killed within the first 20 minutes. And that’s where the good part of the movie ends! Come one guys, let’s keep it tasteful. Although, Anderson, I do agree with you about a PR gang in the middle of downtown of L.A. being a travesty of the highest order! It’s like when in the movie Colors, there are black dudes in a Mexican gang…IN THE MIDDLE OF EAST L.A!!!

How do you do an episode about revenge films and not mention the Death Wish series?

Love the show. Thought you might be interested to know that a luffa is a vegetable, not a sea creature. It’s related to squash, grows on a vine, we grow them in our gardens in Hawai`i:

Luffas are especially great for getting clean when camping and bathing in a river. they’re also edible when very young.

Absconds with!??!
I think “Billy Jack” should have gotten a mention, as well as the “Outlaw Josey Wales.”
This is the only place I know to say that I cannot stand the Blu-Rays that won’t let you get past the initial trailers. It’s so infuriating that I’m slowly considering switching back to DVDs. Why make us HAVE to watch those damn things? Are Blu-Rays really that much better? Its longer loading times and god forbid I pause it too long, I get punished by having to re-watch the Jack and Jill trailer again. I’m still enjoying the quality of the DVDs.
Good film vault this week.

Great episode as usual, fellas! You guys crack me the fuck up constantly with your loofah talk and BB’s pre-foreplay foreplay. Still think True Grit deserved a mention!

Anderson…thank you for spoiling an ENTIRE SEASON of Dexter that is a current season, not a movie, and hasn’t even completed yet. The next time Bryan is “spoiling” a movie that are 25+ years old, just keep your mouth shut. This was the worst spoiler ever. I hope you’re happy with yourself.

Although the majority of the evidence is to the contrary I would submit that there’s a good 20% chance that Anderson is actually the bitch and Bryan the butch. Just sayin.
Great episode guys, you continue to be probably my fave podcast on the net.

Seriously, you guys have to see the film “The Page Turner” as soon as possible. That film is the most insanely awesome revenge thriller ever. There as so many ways in which the revenge taken could go, and the film subverts it all.
Splendid. Perfect. See it!

Why is Bryan trying to be quirky here? Not a single film he mentioned is recognizable as a revenge film.

Good show as always. Could this have been Anderson’s most ‘mainstream’ list of all time? Not that that’s a bad thing, but more a statement that movies in the early 90’s are much better than any other period since.
Bryan’s list was great as well, all movies I own, for the most part (not a Gladiator fan). I don’t think my wife has seen the Anderson’s #1 or Bryan’s #4 so she may be forced to watch them soon.

Anderson really? Do you not understand what Tort reform is really about? Hot coffee sounds like the doc “Inside Job” that although is informative leaves huge holes throughout the doc. Seemly on purpose. Hard to call doc, docs anymore anyway. They are really opinion pieces with whatever particular slant on a certain topic.
The main problem with frivolous lawsuits is that although they may be rare (I doubt that personally though) they drive up the cost of every single service or item on the market. The cost of insurance coverage that all companies have to buy in case of lawsuits, is expensive and gets turned around, like all costs, and paid by the consumer. So saying that one is for fighting tort reform in the name of the “little people” is a deception.
The consumer is the one who ends up paying those costs and often that consumer is? You guessed it big guy, the “little people”. I get confused about your logical reasoning skills at times. You seem very intelligent but you seem to take too much at face value without doing a 360 degree look at certain subjects. I tend to give you a pass though since you do live in the west coast and it has to be hard to see reality through that smog.
That compusault being said, love ya and back to movies. I like Taken, fast paced and brutal or Last House of the Left although technically not a revenge movie. Maybe End of Darkness, Cape Fear. Straw Dogs and so on. Too many.

Here is the most important thing to know about Tort reform: passing these laws does not reduce malpractice insurance costs for Doctors. In the State of Texas, which has the most comprehensive and restrictive tort reform laws in the nation, Doctors pay the same rates (based on on their specialty) as elsewhere in the nation.
The only real change is that the insurance companies pay out fewer claims, and, far fewer injured people are compensated for their injuries.
Otherwise, thanks for shitting up a movie blog.

Cite a “hole” in Inside Job, please.
Or, were you just bored by it because you, like all Americans, were perfectly well aware of the Financial Sector’s, Government’s, and Ecomonics-Acamedia’s collective, united failures from 1997-2008?
Your pose is phony, of course.
